Scripture is by far the most authoritative truth that we can live by. There is safety and wisdom too in the council of wise friends, as the proverb says. Jesus also promised that the Holy Spirit would also be a council to us, a teacher that will instruct us in the life of His truth. Do we live each day expecting to learn from the Holy Spirit?
